    That's why I include the Carborundum 118S, in case something happens to the edge. In lieu of the fine Carborundum silicon carbide hone, maybe a worn fine Crystalon would suffice?

    I know you travel for longer periods than I so its something you must consider.
    I have used the shavette in the past for back up but I really could just put two full size 6/8 in there but then I would worry about having luggage lost and losing two straight razors . DE's can be bought anywhere but my new full blade shavette does not fit anyway so I'll have to pack it separately. I prefer it to the 1/2 blade one.
